The fastest processing tiers cost several times the standard fee, and most travellers never need them. But for a small group of people they are the difference between making a flight and missing it entirely.
When it is genuinely worth it
- A family emergency that requires you to travel tomorrow
- A rescheduled flight that leaves no working days before departure
- A contract signing or site visit that cannot be moved
- A visa that was rejected and has to be resubmitted before you fly
When it is not
If you have three or more working days before departure, an urgent tier already covers you. Paying for hourly processing on top of that buys reassurance, not speed you can use.
What fast processing does not change
Speed applies to handling, not to the quality of your documents. A blurry passport scan will hold up a one-hour application exactly as it holds up a seven-day one. Prepare the files properly first — that is what makes the fast tier work.
Practical advice
Apply during Vietnamese working hours where possible, keep your phone reachable, and answer any request for additional documents immediately. Under an hourly service, an unanswered email for half a day defeats the point of paying for it.
